【摘要】:Coatingstoperformsatisfactorilymustadheretothesubstratesonwhichtheyareapplied.Thistestmethodhasbeenfoundusefulindifferentiatingthedegreeofadhesionofcoatingstosubstrates.Itismostusefulinprovidingrelativeratingsforaseriesofcoatedpanelsexhibitingsignificantdifferencesinadhesion.Studiesperformedinalaboratoryusingtheloopstylusspecifiedinthepreviouseditionshowedmeaningfuladhesiondatawereimpossiblewhenloadsof10to20kgwererequiredtobreakthesurfaceofasolventbasedcoating.Thechromeplatedloopstyluschatteredandskippedacrossthecoatingsurfacewhenloadsofthismagnitudewererequired.Similarmeaninglessdatawereobtainedwhenpowdercoatingsweretestedthatrequiredmorethan10kgtobreakthesurface.Therefore,testingundertheseconditionsisnotapplicable.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationoftheadhesionoforganiccoatingssuchaspaint,varnish,andlacquerwhenappliedtosmooth,flat(planar)panelsurfaces.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
