【摘要】:1.1Thisspecificationestablishesrequirementsfordevicesintendedtoaddresstheriskofinjuryanddeathassociatedwithaccidentalfallsthroughopenwindowsbychildrenfiveyearsoldandyounger.1.2ThisspecificationisnotintendedtomeettheuniquerequirementsofAmericansWithDisabilitiesAct(ADA).1.3Thisspecificationappliestowindowfallpreventiondevices,includingwindowopeningcontroldevices,windowfallpreventionscreens,andfallpreventionwindowguards,thataretobeusedonanywindows,includingthosethataredesignatedforemergencyescape(egress)andrescue(ingress).Note18212;Aseparatesafetyspecification,SafetySpecificationF2006,coverswindowfallpreventiondevicesfornon-emergencyescape(egress)andrescue(ingress)windowsininstallationsmorethan75ft(23m)abovegroundlevelinmultiplefamilydwellingbuildingssincewindowsattheseheightsarebeyondthereachofrescueladderscurrentlyinuse.1.4Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallsafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesandtodeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
